The world of non-food packaging is changing rapidly!
New legislation, higher sustainability targets, and stricter market requirements call for smart and future-proof solutions. OPACKGROUP responds to this with innovative, sustainable packaging solutions, delivered directly from one of our 7 production locations.
In many non-food applications, recycled material can be added or is already being used, helping them comply with the new packaging legislation.
CIRCU STRETCH SLEEVE: A LABEL WITH A BIG IMPACT
The Circu Stretch Sleeve is, at first glance, an attractive all-round label solution. In reality, it tells a powerful story about smart, circular design.
The label can be produced from 50% recycled material. What makes it unique is that the label is fully recyclable. The Circu sleeve really makes a difference in combination with the bottle to which it is applied. Because no adhesive or label residue remains in the separation process, a PET bottle can be optimally converted into a pure new raw material.
In practice, this is confirmed by Matthijs Veerman of Morssinkhof – Rymoplast: ‘The Circu-sleeve, in combination with a PET bottle, is the most optimally recyclable packaging. Because no label residue or adhesive residue remains on the bottle, a pure material flow can be created using the float-sink method.’
The Circu-sleeve also enhances the recyclability of HDPE bottles. During wind shifting, the printed sleeve components are separated from the rigid bottle, ensuring that the recycling stream remains pure and efficient.
The Circu sleeve is therefore much more than just a packaging element. It is tangible proof that progress sometimes lies in unexpectedly small adjustments.

How hard can it be?
On the complexity of flexible PE-packaging
A simple polyethylene bag – how hard can it be? Until you actually have to specify packaging. Then it quickly becomes clear that there is much more to it than you think. Thickness, seal strength, stretchability, barrier properties, gloss, printability, machine processing, and of course: recyclability. The PPWR legislation is fast approaching.
What appears to be standard packaging is in reality a balance of choices. You can think of it as a Swiss watch with various (dimension) radars; if one radar is not working properly, the rest will also malfunction. All variables, no matter how small they may seem, are important in ultimately defining good packaging. Every filling product, every application and every customer request has its own requirements. Do you want mono-material? Does the packaging need to be suitable for manual handling and will it be packed in containers or is it fully automated handling? Is the product hygroscopic? And how do you translate that into a sustainable solution without compromising on functionality? The price of the film/bags may be very attractive, but they must be easy to fill. Otherwise, operators will face a major challenge in achieving the desired output. Ultimately, the packaging must be suitable for the entire chain.
The trick is to strike the right balance. Between performance and price, between recyclability and functionality, between production efficiency and customer experience.
In short: flexible PE packaging is only simple if you have all the variables under control.
And that requires knowledge, experience and cooperation.
Keep your ears and eyes open!
We have the solution for closing the ears on mono PE packaging.
Ears open or ears closed? For someone who is not active in the packaging world, the phenomenon of open or closed ears will mean something completely different.
In the packaging world, however, some marketers consider open ears to be an absolute no-go. This means that in attractive stand-up packaging, the top of the side folds are neatly sealed together. You can then lift the packaging up by the ears, as it were. It simply looks better on the shelf than those “fluttering” folds.
With conventional, non-recyclable stand-up packaging made of several layers of film, closing the ears was no problem at all.

TOPEMBOSS® ULTRA: Thinner, Stronger, More Sustainable
At Plasthill, we believe innovation only has value if it truly benefits you in practice.
TopEmBoss® embossed films are used as temporary carrier or separation materials for sticky substrates such as rubber, prepregs, or tapes. With TopEmBoss® Ultra, we have developed a release film that makes your process easier, more efficient, and more sustainable.
Traditional release films are often between 60 and 100 µm thick. With TopEmBoss® Ultra, we take a step forward: thanks to a renewed combination of embossing and stretching techniques, the film is up to 40% thinner—without compromising performance. In fact, the film improves flatness, tear resistance, and process reliability, allowing you to produce with greater consistency and confidence.
What does this mean for you?
- Less material usage → directly reducing environmental impact
- More efficient production → more meters of film per roll (fewer roll changes), less waste due to tearing or wrinkling, and a more stable process thanks to improved flatness.
- Consistent quality → reliability in every process, even under demanding conditions.
TopEmBoss® Ultra demonstrates that sustainability and functionality can go hand in hand. You get a film that performs reliably in practice, while together we significantly reduce raw material usage.
Curious what TopEmBoss® Ultra can mean for your application?

Perfon BOPP Flowpack Film: The Ideal Packaging Solution for Non-Food Products
In the world of non-food packaging, efficiency, protection and presentation are essential. Whether it concerns office supplies, electronic accessories, cosmetics or household products, packaging plays a major role in logistics, shelf appearance and consumer experience. BOPP flowpack film is a widely used and versatile packaging solution. But what exactly is BOPP, and why is it so suitable for non-food applications?
What is BOPP?
BOPP stands for Biaxially Oriented PolyPropylene – a type of plastic that is stretched in two directions during the production process. This gives the film unique properties such as:
- High tensile strength
- Excellent clarity and gloss
- Good barrier against moisture
- Tear resistance
- Low stretch (stays tight around the product)
Thanks to these properties, BOPP film is widely used in both the food and non-food industries, particularly in the form of flowpack packaging.
Applications of Perfon BOPP Flowpack in Non-Food
The versatility of BOPP flowpack film makes it suitable for use in numerous sectors. Some examples:
- Cosmetics and personal care: toothbrushes, make-up accessories, cleaning wipes
- Office supplies: pens, highlighters, staplers
- Electronics accessories: cables, batteries, USB sticks
- Household products: scouring pads, tea lights, plastic cutlery
- The clear film keeps products clearly visible, while printing ensures brand recognition and product information.
Environmental considerations
Although BOPP is a plastic, it has several environmental advantages over other materials:
- Recyclable (if sorted correctly)
- Lightweight, which reduces transport and CO₂ emissions
- Thin film thicknesses possible while maintaining strength
In addition, there are more and more initiatives in the market for mono-material solutions (made entirely from one type of plastic), which makes sorting and recycling easier.
Conclusion
Perfon BOPP flowpack film is a reliable, efficient and professional packaging solution for non-food products. It combines practical advantages such as strength and barrier properties with aesthetic qualities that contribute to brand perception. For companies looking for a modern and cost-effective way to package non-food products, Perfon BOPP flowpack is a smart choice.
